Community Results

Aggregated supplement outcomes from pet owners

How This Tool Works

The Results Logger collects anonymous supplement outcomes from pet owners and aggregates them into a community database. You submit your pet's breed, age, weight, the supplement name and category, how long you used it, and whether you saw significant improvement, some improvement, no change, or worsening. The tool stores all data locally in your browser using localStorage, so nothing leaves your device. Over time, as more pet owners submit results, the Community Results section builds a crowdsourced picture of which supplements actually work. Each supplement shows its total report count, the percentage of owners who reported improvement, and a breakdown of response categories. This real-world data complements the clinical research in our dosage calculator and buying guides.

Example Scenario

After giving your 7-year-old Golden Retriever a glucosamine-chondroitin supplement (Cosequin DS) for 3 months, you notice improved mobility on walks and less stiffness after rest. You log the result as "Significant improvement" in the Joint category. The community results section now shows Cosequin DS with 80% of respondents reporting improvement. If another owner logs the same supplement with "No change" after only 2 weeks, the aggregate score adjusts accordingly. Over time, this creates a useful signal for which products deliver real-world results, especially when combined with the evidence ratings from our other tools. Because the data is stored locally, you can also track your own pet's supplement history across multiple products.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data shared with anyone?

No. All data is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device and is not uploaded to any server. The community results you see are aggregated from your own submissions only. In a future version, we plan to offer opt-in anonymous sharing to build a larger dataset.

How long should I wait before logging results?

Most supplements need 4 to 8 weeks to show noticeable effects. Joint supplements like glucosamine typically take 6 to 8 weeks, probiotics show gut changes in 1 to 3 weeks, and calming supplements like L-Theanine work within 30 to 60 minutes for acute use. We recommend waiting at least the documented onset period before submitting a result.

Can I log multiple supplements?

Yes. Click "Log Another Result" after each submission to add results for additional supplements. Each entry is tracked separately in the community database, so you can log results for every supplement in your pet's stack.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Since results are stored in localStorage, clearing your browser data will erase your logged results. If you want to preserve your data, consider noting your entries before clearing. A future cloud-synced version will allow persistent storage with an account.
